World Mental Health Day

We all have mental health and we need to take care of it as it is as important as our physical health!
First celebrated in 1992, World Mental Health Day focuses on raising awareness of mental health issues and advocacy against social stigma. With the aim to educate, inform and engage, this year’s theme is suicide prevention.
Did you know!
– In 2018, there were 6,859 suicides in the UK and Republic of Ireland which is 11.8% higher than the previous year
– In the UK, men are 3 times more likely to die by suicide than women
– The highest rate of suicide is among men aged 45 – 49
Championing positive mental health
Mental health issues range from anxiety, depression and panic attacks, through to bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and trauma-related conditions.
